Key responsibilities

As a Carrier Manager – Ocean Freight, you will:

  • Collaborate with LLP Operations, Planning, central PCM teams, and the customer to identify and secure the most suitable, cost-effective transportation providers across countries, regions, and lanes.

  • Take ownership of carrier account performance — track KPIs, report accurately, and support the development of effective corrective action plans when needed.

  • Ensure regular KPI reporting to carriers and lead the carrier partnership review process.

  • Identify and onboard new carriers to ensure capacity, cost competitiveness, and service quality.

  • Ensure all carriers go through the LLP approval process and meet 100% of compliance requirements, including Quality, Security, Operational, and Corporate compliance, in line with contractual obligations.

  • Monitor carrier performance against service agreements and recommend replacements if needed.

  • Own and continuously improve the carrier strategy — short-, medium-, and long-term — aligned with procurement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Fluent English (written and spoken)

  • Diploma or Certificate in Logistics or Freight Forwarding

  • Proven experience in Supplier/Carrier Management, including evaluation and negotiation of maritime service providers

  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in logistics, preferably in multimodal transport (Courier, Road, Air & Sea), and freight forwarding

  • Minimum 3 years of specific experience in Ocean Freight Forwarding, including acquisition, rate negotiation, and knowledge of market trends

  • Experience with Carrier Performance evaluation, including KPIs and reporting metrics

  • Strong customer relationship management and senior account management skills
