As the Programme Solution Architect (SA) you will provide technical leadership and Solution Architecture services across all delivery aspects of the programme. The role covers six key areas:
Provide solution oversight and assurance for the programme.
Own and maintain all High-Level Design artefacts and associated client-facing architecture and design materials.
Function as solution lead for all Change Requests raised by the customer.
Maintain the technical strategy and roadmap for the programme.
Work with the programme leadership including the Programme Manager, Chief Engineer, Service and Security Leads to ensure the successful execution of the programme.
Develop and maintain a “trusted advisor” relationship with the customer technical, programme and end-user leadership to ensure shared objectives are aligned and sustained.
Your Role and Responsibilities.
The successful candidate is expected to have broad knowledge of a range of technical capabilities and technologies including hardware, software, data, networks, cloud, IT services and cyber security.
In addition, the Programme Solution Architect will form part of a wider National Security & Defence Divisional Solution Architect team. They will be expected to contribute to this function through sharing knowledge and experience in pursuit of both programme delivery and wider solution growth activities for the business. This will take many forms including solution peer review, solution and R&D idea input, white papers, team briefings and other technical exchanges.
Programme Solution Architect scope:
The Programme Solution Architect is responsible for solution planning and leadership covering system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and delivery working in partnership with the Programme Chief Engineer. As programme scope and understanding evolves the Programme Solution Architect will be expected to evaluate alternative solution elements and consider not just scope but cost and risk, supportability and end-to-end analysis to ensure sustained programme success. Specific duties and areas of impact for the Solution Architect include performing systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance.
Influences development of solutions that impact programme goals and results.
Recommends and develops new technical solutions, products, and/or approaches in support of the programme scope and operation.
Leads and manages work of other technical staff where it has significant impact on solution and technical deliverables.
Resolves highly complex problems using significant application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation.
Develops solutions that are innovative and achieved through research and integration of best practices.
Communicates with executive leadership (internally or client) regarding matters of significant importance to the programme.
Works to convince others to accept and agree new concepts, solutions and approaches to the benefit of programme delivery.
Has in-depth understanding of technical principles, theories, concepts and their application across a range of contexts and scenarios.
Serves as a subject matter expert within relevant technical domain areas.
What does Leidos need from me?
Experience in defining and maintaining the appropriate technical solution for the programme. This involves engaging business stakeholders to understand their needs, justifying the strategy to get approvals, communicating it to the business and supporting the assurance of solutions designed to ensure it is followed.
In-depth understanding of technology and technical principles, theories, concepts and their application across range of programmes and contexts.
Knowledge and experience of core IT capabilities including Cloud, Infrastructure & Networks, Application including development, Data including database, analytics, AI and ML, ITSM including ITIL, Cyber Security, Automation.
Highly skilled at solutioning and designing complex mission critical systems and services which meet customer needs whilst remaining implementable within schedule and budget.
Excellent communications skills to engage with executive leadership articulating and justifying investment proposals and to provide technical direction and leadership to the programme.
Excellent written and presentation communication skills.
Experience conducting technical solution reviews for large programmes and bids to ensure their success.
Experience of the Defence domain is highly desirable.
Clearance Requirements:
This role will require Developed Vetting (DV) Security Clearance. Those candidates without DV must be suitable for the process and will be required to commence application immediately upon successful application.
Location:
The Programme Solution Architect will be expected to be work from the Leidos Farnborough office for the majority of the time with occasional travel to customer locations and working from home.
