Physical Requirements
  • Requires walking, lifting equipment (up to 40 lbs), and extended periods of standing during events.

Shift
  • Majority of work performed on-site at athletics venues and offices.
  • Must adhere to all university and athletics department conduct and confidentiality policies.

Job Summary
Position Summary:
The University of Kentucky Athletics IT department is seeking a reliable and motivated part-time IT student worker to provide technical support for athletics events and general staff support. This position plays a critical role during nights and weekends by supporting the setup and operation of IT systems at athletics venues. The student worker will also assist during regular business hours with basic technical tasks and user support for Athletics staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide on-site IT support for University of Kentucky athletics events during evenings and weekends.
• Set up, configure, and test computer and networking equipment for events.
• Troubleshoot technical issues related to computers, connectivity, and peripherals during live events.
• Assist visiting media and athletics personnel with access to network resources and system usage.
• Provide general technical support during weekday business hours, including:
o Installing and updating software
o Performing basic hardware maintenance
o Supporting staff with routine IT issues
• Document technical issues and resolutions to aid in ongoing support and training.

  • Dependability, punctuality, and a customer-service-oriented mindset.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/Experience
  • Previous experience in technical support or help desk roles.
  • Familiarity with athletics venue environments or media operations.
  • Basic knowledge of AV systems, wireless networking, or mobile device support.
  • Reliable transportation.
