Overview

Responsible of leading and implementing high level advance procurement activities for Castings, Fabrications, Machining and Polymers categories to ensure strategic sourcing and cost efficiency while ensuring quality standards. Responsible for supporting the aforementioned categories for IP global project business in winning the initial business through supplier negotiation pre-award and improve margins after purchase order awarded from customer.  This process requires close working relationships with suppliers, product specialists and category managers to ensure alignment with the overall category strategy while reducing the overall costs to win business. The scope includes quoting, negotiating, sourcing and managing the supplier relationships and supplier performance for the aforementioned categories in support of the global category strategy and business performance.

Primary accountability for:

  • Develop and implement cost competitive sourcing options in the tendering phase aligned with category strategies (focus on Castings, Fabrications, Machining and polymers)
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation actions
  • Identify cost saving opportunities and potential suppliers in collaboration with Product Management and Category Managers.
  • Establish and manage relationships with key suppliers
  • Support category management with analytics to improve supplier selection and development


Responsibilities

support customer projects through supplier negotiations pre-award and margin enhancement post customer order award. Part of team who is responsible for more than $200M USD annual spend globally. Contribute to development of global sourcing strategies for assigned category expenditures.

  • Provide the sourcing options for specific proposals while ensuring QA requirements are met. Work closely with Product Specialists to increase the probability of winning projects.
  • Ensure the Sourcing Framework established by Category Managers is met.
  • Lead the effort to utilize Low Cost Region (LCR) suppliers by including LCR suppliers in the proposal stage.
  • Negotiate discounts and lead-times as needed in specific proposals.
  • Provide inputs for cost saving opportunities and potential suppliers.
  • Maintain the GSC app and POWERBI clean and up to date.
  • Enforce corporate policies regarding to the ethical conduct of purchasing activities and the supplier Code of Conduct
  • Support Category Management to improve supplier selection and development

 



Qualifications



Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Supply Chain Management.

 

Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience (preferred 3 years) in a manufacturing environment, preferably experienced in Castings, Fabrications and Machining.

Purchasing/ Advanced Sourcing/ Strategic Procurement knowledge a plus

 

Other Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Global strategic and tactical sourcing experience
  • Negotiation skills
  • Cost analytics and data analytical abilities
  • Experience in supplier relationship management
  • Working knowledge of Foundry, Fabrications, and Machining processes
  • Demonstrated success in leading projects in a global matrix organization; proven collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to work with multiple cultures and geographies, In-person and virtually.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and ERP Systems.
  • Proactive approach.
