Job Summary
The UK Education Abroad & Exchanges Office is looking for motivated students to assist with day-to-day assignments, such as classroom presentations and tabling at on-campus events like the Fall Fair. EAPAs may be assigned a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Participation in student outreach, such as tabling or assisting on classroom presentations.
- Tabling at campus events or in the Gatton Student Center.
- Peer-advising students and answering questions on the basics of study abroad.
- Assisting with projects around the office as needed.
This position is open to students from all academic backgrounds who have previously studied abroad. This opportunity allows for selected EAPAs to serve as role models on campus by providing information and guidance about the Education Abroad process, as well as by sharing their personal experiences with their peers and others within the UK community. Candidates should have a positive attitude, successful academic performance, effective leadership and communication skills, and enthusiasm for international education.
Students will also complete a series of required personal and professional development requirements as part of the EAPA position.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Successful candidates must have a positive attitude and willingness to work with students, the initiative to start and complete projects, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidates must also be confident in both public speaking and interpersonal communication, and have working knowledge of Microsoft programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
