Part-Time Faculty Lecturer

The Department of Epidemiology is seeking an individual at the Faculty Lecturer level to teach the course EPIDEM 2450: Epidemiology with Electronic Health Care Data; a 2-credit course in Spring 2026. The Lecturer will work on preparing the syllabus, teaching contents and teaching the course in Spring 2026.

This position is a part-time, temporary position outside the tenure stream.

Ph.D., Doctor of Philosophy in Epidemiology, with at least ten years of experience as an applied epidemiologist in the public or private sector.

• Research experience in numerous registries and other internal or external data sources. Extensive use and knowledge of public data sources. Knowledge of understanding the data-generating mechanisms in health care delivery and health care reimbursement. How to apply standard coding systems used in health care to medical diagnoses, procedures, medications, and other data related to electronic health care data.

• Research experience in surveillance, with multiple studies and their data, insurance claims, and national database work.

• Expertise in preparing grants and manuscripts related to Epidemiology Studies and surveillance of collected research data and their application to registries.

• Teaching experience in epidemiology courses at the graduate level
