SUMMARY:
The Personal Computer Support Technician will process a range of scheduled routines to support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives to meet the needs of the project and its staff. In addition to operating the system and resolving common error conditions, this worker diagnoses and acts on machine stoppage and error conditions not fully covered by existing procedures and guidelines. In response to computer output instructions or error conditions, the Computer Support Technician may deviate from standard procedures if standard procedures do not provide a solution and refers problems which do not respond to corrective procedures to a person of supervisory or higher individual contributor level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates multipurpose, multi-tasking computer systems.
- Assists with NIPR and SIPR account requests.
- Maintain Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) code charts.
- Powers the computer system up or down by following operating procedures and entering commands on the control console.
- Enters commands on the control console to open and close files as required to process specific jobs and to activate batch, backup and test jobs.
- Loads paper and forms in printers, activates printers in response to computer messages and removes printout from printers.
- Monitors the processing of jobs by observing the control console and correcting processing errors according to operating policies, procedure and job documentation.
- Verifies that complete and correct output has been produced for each job and maintains control counts of numbered forms, checks and other negotiable documents.
- Enters commands on the control console to bring up and take down on-line systems.
- Responds to calls from on-line system users regarding system problems and follows procedures in systems and device manuals to restore system access.
- Notifies programmers, technical support staff and users of program and system problems.
- Cleans, adjusts and makes minor repairs to computer equipment.
- Assists in set up of Microsoft TEAMS
- Assists in share drive maintenance.
- Assists in computer domain maintenance, such as adding and deleting computers to the domain.
- Performs software troubleshooting.
- Answers phone calls and provides assistance.
- Installs Fort Bliss Network Enterprise Center approved network updates.
- Perform hardware maintenance/replacement.
- Adds printers not requiring elevated privileges.
- Conducts lifecycle replacement for users receiving new equipment.
- Maintains and updates IMS ticket tracker.
- Submits remedy tickets for support to patch ports from panel to switch.
- Requests new and updates accounts in Remedy.
- Sets up email accounts.
- Stores and transfers user data.
- Travels to McGregor Base Camp and Westbrook to provide IT support.
- Troubleshoots and assists with the problems of network users by phone when duty is assigned.
- Update Common Access Card certificates for new cards.
- Updates PIV for dual persona users.
- Maintains Service Now Account
- Submits tickets through Army ITSM when NEC support is required.
- Tracks status of Mob Branch ticket submissions.
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support of an Information Technology team.
- Complete and maintain all training of the Performance Work Statement requirements (EX: Cyber Awareness Training)

Essential : - High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Must have DoD Cyber Awareness Challenge Training, Network Enterprise Center (NEC) sponsored IMO Training, Cyber Security Fundamental Training, Wide Network Security Focus (WNSF) – Phishing Awareness v2.0 Training, WNSF-Portable Electronic Devices and removable Storage Media v2.0 Training. WNSF-Safe Home Computing, WNSF – Personally Identifiable Information v2.0, Army, Thumb Drive Awareness, CIO/G-6 NETCOM IA version, MD 100 Windows 10:Configuration, MD 101 Configuring Windows Devices, MD 100 and MD 102 Installing and Configuring Windows 11, Computing Technology Industry Association ( Comp TIA) Security +, ectory, Service now, SharePoint,.
- Knowledgeable In Microsoft Azure and Intune for computer object and user support.
- Will use own judgment in choosing the proper procedure for each task.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service focus.
Preferred : - Prior experience working with/for the US Military, a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, comprehend and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence from inside the organization as well as from external sources. Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to customers, internal and external, clients and other employees in the organization. Ability to interpret instructions and information and explain to others in the performance of this job in English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is generally performed in an office environment which requires sitting or standing and working on a computer for long periods of time. Required to walk, stand, sit and move about the property for long periods of time. Essential and marginal functions require maintaining physical condition necessary for: bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time, operating through extended periods of high stress. If applicable the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must possess visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal room levels and on the telephone; and the manual dexterity to operate a cell phone, handheld radio, telephone, and keyboard.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/HOURS: This position is not eligible for remote work, as the essential functions of the role require the employee to perform duties on-site. Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. If applicable work 10(+) hours per day. Must be able to work in fast paced, multi-task environment. Will require having flexed hours to accommodate for mission requirements to include weekends and Holidays. Overtime may be required.
