Are you a hands-on, reliable team player with warehouse and/or hi-lo experience? Do you have exposure to the Plumbing or HVAC world?  Etna Supply is looking for a Warehouse Associate who is comfortable working outdoors and able to step in as a backup driver when needed. A Chauffeur's License (or willingness to obtain one) is required for this role, as you’ll occasionally assist with deliveries.

Job Summary: Receive and put away product, pull orders, and prepare materials for shipment. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the accuracy of inventory, supporting warehouse operations, and providing a positive customer experience.

  • Understand the layout of the warehouse/yard and product bin locations.
  • Be willing to serve as a backup delivery driver as needed (Chauffeur's License required or willingness to obtain).
  • Safely handle materials, products, and equipment with care.
  • Accurately pull and prepare materials for shipment or counter pick-up.
  • Verify and prevent shipping, receiving, and inventory errors through attention to detail.
  • Label products for pick-up/delivery with customer information.
  • Complete documentation thoroughly, noting any shortages or damages.
  • Unload incoming shipments, verifying product accuracy and condition.
  • Stock and organize materials in their proper locations.
  • Report and document any vendor shipping discrepancies per SOP.
  • Assist at the sales counter when needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse and yard areas.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Plumbing/Waterworks knowledge with an understanding of product application.
  • Effective communication, stress management, judgement, customer service, teamwork, cross-selling and upselling, and detail orientation skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
  • Effective computer skills. Knowledge of Eclipse a plus.
  • Basic adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division skills.

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma; or
  • Six months warehouse experience; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Certifications and/or Licenses:

  • Ability to pass operator exam and drive powered industrial equipment.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Frequently required to talk and hear; walk and stand; push, pull, carry, grasp, and handle, and use fingers.
  • Regularly required to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach; sit; and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to fulfill the essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and a safe manner.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include clear vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more, depth perception, and color vision. 
  • Work performed mostly inside but do have to go outside at times with possible exposure to extreme weather.
