Education/Experience
• This position requires a bachelor’s degree in psychology, kinesiology, biological science, or related field. • Exceptional candidates will have prior experience in concussion clinical research or other human subject research/outreach activities.
• Previous experience with phlebotomy, database management, and statistical software preferred.
In lieu of educational requirements, additional years of relevant experience may be considered, as per University guidelines.

Assists with and adheres to Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewal, modification, and approved protocols. Recruits research subjects and conducts interviews and research assessments.
The Research Assistant performs recruitment of participants for clinical research studies in concussion. The main functions include: • Recruiting participants including screening, consenting, and enrolling of participants • Creating and posting study recruitment materials • Conducting concussion assessments including symptoms, cognitive, ocular, vestibular, sleep, and psychological health • Obtaining basic vitals of blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature • Entering and cleaning research data • Performing basic database management • Assisting in testing and scheduling of participants in studies • After training, the Research Assistant is expected to perform these tasks with minimal supervision • Candidates require meticulous record keeping and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. • Candidates must be able to work as part of a team and independently.
The candidate must be able to walk. The facility is in a distributed environment, and to perform the concussion research protocols, the incumbent must be able to move around freely. The incumbent must be able to escort patients from the waiting area to the study center, which will require walking from various locations.
