Description:

YVFWC is seeking a detail-oriented and certified Credentialing Specialist to join our Professional Staff Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the credentialing, recredentialing, and privileging processes for physicians, dentists, advanced practice professionals, and other contracted or employed providers across YVFWC clinics.

We've transformed into a leading community health center in the Pacific Northwest with 40+ clinics across Washington and Oregon. We offer a wide range of services such as medical, dental, pharmacy, orthodontia, nutritional counseling, autism screening, and behavioral health. Our holistic model also extends assistance to shelter, energy, weatherization, HIV and AIDS counseling, home visits, and mobile medical/dental clinics. Our Professional Staff Services department plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety through rigorous credentialing and privileging processes for all providers.

This is a remote position. Candidates must reside in one of these U.S. states: WA, OR, ID, CA, AZ, CO, TX, IL, IN, WI, TN, MA, MD, VA, NC, AL, GA, FL (some restrictions within WA and CA).

Who We’re Looking For:

  • An experienced credentialing professional with a strong background in hospital credentialing and a deep understanding of credentialing processes, standards, and compliance requirements

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • A clear communicator who builds strong relationships with providers and stakeholders and demonstrates sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information

  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office and credentialing systems, with a commitment to data accuracy, confidentiality, and continuous process improvement

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and internal policies throughout all credentialing processes

  • Manage initial and renewal credentialing and privileging for physicians, dentists, advanced practice providers, and others using primary source verification

  • Review and screen provider applications, identifying discrepancies and escalating red flags or complex issues as needed

  • Track and maintain timely completion of credentialing and recredentialing activities, including expirable items and licensure renewals

  • Support competency validation through FPPE and OPPE processes, including data collection and reporting

  • Assist with delegated credentialing oversight, audits, and site visits in accordance with contractual agreements

  • Maintain accurate provider data in credentialing systems and perform regular quality checks and audits

  • Coordinate Credentials Committee activities, including agenda preparation, meeting documentation, and follow-up

  • Collaborate with Provider Enrollment and Professional Staff teams to ensure seamless documentation and enrollment processes

  • Uphold confidentiality and data integrity in all credentialing and enrollment-related activities

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience (one of the following):

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field + 3 years of credentialing experience in a hospital, clinic, or health plan setting

    • Associate’s Degree + 5 years of credentialing experience in a hospital, clinic, or health plan setting

    • High School Diploma or GED + 7 years of credentialing experience in a hospital, clinic, or health plan setting

*All options require a developmental understanding of Joint Commission and NCQA standards, relevant state and federal statutes, and applicable case law.

  • Certifications:

    • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) – Required

    • Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) – Preferred

    • Certified MD-Staff Super User – Preferred

    • Certified Provider Enrollment Specialist (CPES) – Preferred
