Laboratory Research Technician
We are seeking a full-time research technician to assist in multiplexed biomarker assay development for tumor microenvironment and systems immunology studies. The scope of work includes assay design and development, testing, quality control, validation, and application to basic, preclinical and clinical studies.
Primary responsibilities include developing standardized antibody labeling protocols for highly multiplexed immunofluorescence and immunohistochemistry assays and microscopy. Other responsibilities include preparing spatial transcriptomic and single-cell RNA-seq samples, performing RNA-FISH and cell culture work for research studies, maintaining lab inventory, training students, and ordering supplies. Applicant must have a B.S. in Biology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Pathology, or a related field. An MS degree will be preferred, however, BS with 2+ year experience will be equally considered.
Performs a variety of independent laboratory work and experiments such as determining experimental protocols and preparation of specimens and cultures. Prepares reports of findings subsequent to compilation and analyzation. Oversees specimen inventory. Develops documentation for publication; crafts manuscripts and grant proposals.
Candidate must be able to perform some basic imaging and data analysis. Must be consistent, detailed, and organized
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
