Overview

Director of IT Security Objective

To provide strategic level leadership, development, and oversight to the enterprise IT security program for the Michigan Farm Bureau Family of Companies (MFBFoC). To be accountable for shaping, evolving, and leading the cyber and information security practices for the company.  To identify, evaluate, and report on legal and regulatory, IT, and cybersecurity risk for information assets to IT and Company leadership groups, while supporting and advancing MFBFoC overall business objectives.  To work in direct partnership with all business and IT areas to help plan and deliver on corporate and department level initiatives that require IT security resources.  To establish and maintain an information security program to ensure MFBFoC information and associated technology assets, applications, systems, infrastructure, and processes adequately protect the MFBFoC business operations. 



Responsibilities

Director of IT Security Responsibilities

Establish and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity risk mitigation strategies and operational practices that help protect the MFBFoC from cyber risks, attacks, and exposures.

 

Work with executive and company management teams to determine acceptable levels of risk and appropriate cyber and information risk management strategies for the MFBFoC.

 

Proactively work with business leaders and units throughout MFBFoC to implement cyber and systems security practices that meet agreed upon information security policies and business partner standards.   

 

Be accountable for developing and orchestrating employee training plans regarding cybersecurity exposures and risk mitigation ideas that employees can use to reduce cyber risks throughout the MFBFoC.

 

Develop and implement an enterprise-wide on-premises and cloud-based information security strategy that ensures the data, assets, and system access integrity are maintained throughout the MFBFoC. 



Qualifications



Director of IT Security Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in business administration, cybersecurity risk mitigation, computer science required, or other related field or equivalent experience may be considered. 

 

Minimum five years of management or relevant cybersecurity risk management experience required.

 

Familiarity with leading practices for securing hardware, software, networks, interaction points, and corporate data elements is required.
