Overview

Inspect raw materials, work-in-process, assembled parts or finished products for defects, wear, and deviations from specifications either in-plant or at customer locations.

• Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.
• Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, gauges, calipers, micrometers or measuring tapes.
• Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems.
• Write test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs.
• Perform visual inspections of finished products.
• Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Analyze production samples to evaluate quality.
• Analyze quality control test results and provide feedback and interpretation to production management or staff.
• Stop production if serious product defects are present.
• Monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
• Examine customer returns to determine reason and complete Return Authorization form.
• Log daily production quality reports.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred. Three to five years previous work-related experience.
• Regularly required to walk, stand, and bend in a manufacturing environment.
• Computer skills required; Outlook email, production systems, etc.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must regularly lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 150 pounds.
