Job Information

Position: Safety Manager
Travel: primarily PA, some regional travel required

We are currently seeking a Safety Manager to join our Wagman Construction, Inc. team. Reporting to the Corporate Safety Director, the Safety Manager is responsible for all safety functions supporting job sites, including on-site safety inspections, training, JSAs, and incident investigations. This position works along with the entire Project Team to ensure the safety of field personnel, and is involved in project planning in an effort to avoid serious incidents and fatalities. This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.

This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.

Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety Management preferred, or equivalent of technical training and experience
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of construction safety experience preferred
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT standards required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented

Essential Functions

  • Administers the EHS Program in compliance with Wagman policies and procedures
  • Develops and implements project specific safety plans and kickoff meetings
  • Coordinates safety meetings and incident investigations
  • Assists with PPE and safety supplies
  • Assists with regulatory inspections, acting as a liaison with regulatory agencies
  • Manages incidents and ensures company processes are followed
  • Ensures proper care for injuries / illnesses in accordance with company processes. Serve as a liaison between injured team members, corporate, and operations.
  • Measures effectiveness of safety programs and processes and the project level (orientation, training, etc.)

Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions

  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds from ground level to waist level and 30 pounds to above shoulder level throughout a scheduled work shift.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel occasionally throughout a scheduled work shift.
  • Must be able to climb ladders.
  • Continuous standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather.
  • Acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing required.
  • Frequent standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
