Bestica is hiring an Epidemiologist to provide services at Wright Patterson AFB located in Dayton, OH – ONSITE.

Description of services: The employee shall provide subject matter expertise to USAFSAM Department of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM/FE), Aerospace Medicine Studies and Analysis Division (FES). FES provides the data center and subject matter expert consultative support hub for the USAF Operational Support Team and True North + initiatives, aerospace and operational clinical psychology consultation to optimize performance and assist in injury/decrement recovery, and the capability for USAFSAM and the USAF Medical Service to conduct and administer Aerospace and Operational Medicine Enterprise (AOME) data analytics. The Aeromedical Analytic Consultation Data Cell will provide operational medicine and human performance surveillance support on a variety of operational, readiness, human performance, and health outcomes as well as program evaluation and effectiveness analysis for programs within the operational or human performance domains.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • The employee shall possess, at a minimum, an MPH, MS, or PhD in Epidemiology, Statistics, Data Science, Bioinformatics or other similar degree as approved by USAFSAM/FES and strong knowledge of their field of expertise.
  • The employee shall have a minimum of 5 years of experience with statistics in public health.
  • The employee shall possess advanced analytical skills, to include visual analytics in population health and health data surveillance.
  • The employee shall possess the ability to design, formulate, conduct, and lead data analysis of operational studies on health surveillance data/health records/other relevant military records and risk reduction of negative health outcomes affecting the USAF total force population.
  • The employee shall be proficient in the following software programs: Microsoft Office, SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • The employee shall be current in Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training to be able to access, and process identified medical data.
  • The employee shall possess the capacity to learn new analytical technology tools such as Tableau, Python, R, SAS Viya, or Qualtrics.
  • The employee shall have a signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in place with their company based on the potential access to confidential, proprietary, and/or sensitive information. The NDA shall be provided to the Government Program Manager by start of performance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Board certification in Public Health is highly desired.
  • Experience within a health analytics related field and working with USAF related data is desired.
