Job Title: Card Services Compliance Specialist  (On-Site Position), Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM)

Position Summary

The Card Services Compliance Specialist ensures that card services operations comply with all applicable regulations, industry standards, and internal policies. This role is responsible for identifying potential compliance risks, maintaining and implementing effective policies and procedures, conducting audits, and promoting a culture of compliance throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance

  • Monitor and ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards affecting card services.

  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and assess their impact on card operations.

Policy & Procedure Management

  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and implementing compliance policies and procedures for card services.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent adherence to established guidelines.

Risk Assessment & Internal Audits

  • Identify compliance risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies.

  • Conduct quarterly risk assessments on card services relationships.

  • Investigate compliance issues, discrepancies, or breaches, and propose corrective actions.

  • Perform scheduled audits, including Cardholder Agreements, Periodic Statements, and Adverse Action Notices, on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Training & Professional Development

  • Complete ongoing compliance education through webinars, certifications, and in-person training.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of compliance activities, audits, and investigations.

  • Prepare reports for management on compliance status, trends, and findings.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, or a related field; relevant certifications or equivalent experience will be considered.

  • Minimum 1 year prior experience in banking, compliance, or the finance industry.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.

  • Proficiency with banking/card operations systems, databases, and software applications.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Strong ethics and commitment to confidentiality when handling sensitive customer information.

Preferred Education & Experience

  • Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) or professional certifications in business development or strategic management.

  • Previous experience as a Card Specialist or in a similar role in card services or financial services.

  • Strong knowledge of card operations processes, industry regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Proven ability to manage complex card operations, investigate and resolve issues, and provide guidance to junior team members.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex operational challenges and make data-driven decisions.
