We have an exciting opportunity for a professional role as Product Manager 2 to join our Kontron Family! This person will develop and execute product strategy and value proposition for custom system products within the product and portfolio management team. Also, they will serve as a supporting role/function within the team in which the role will focus on basic product portfolio management tasks including, but not limited to product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle. This includes gathering and prioritizing product specifications and defining typical customers, defining the product vision, working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure financial goals are met and customers are satisfied. There will be project focused activities in support of assigned products (i.e.; competitive analysis, pricing maintenance, inventory management) contribution and coordination with marketing for product messaging, external facing collateral, and event support.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Define Go to Market Strategy associated to the custom product may be sold including revenues, margins, pricing and costs and any others relevant KPIs and objectives;
  • Define the product strategy and roadmap;
  • Deliver a clear value proposition that can be used by the Sales and Marketing department to generate demand and growth for the associated product line;
  • Deliver high-level requirements with prioritized features and corresponding justification to enable the Company to design products creating value for the customers;
  • Maintain close relationship with customers and the R&D group to ensure a better understanding of future market trends and needs;
  • Run early adopter program with minimal viable products and samples to prove the viability of the value proposition;
  • Collaborate with sales and business development to Identify target customers, define engagement and go-to-market strategy;
  • Have a direct engagement in customer acquisition (with sales and customer);
  • Be an expert on the subject matter with respect to the market, technologies, and competitive landscape.
  • Work closely with Product Management at other Kontron entities such as Kontron Europe, Kontron Asia and Kontron Slovenia
  • Manage assigned products with support from Product Management at the Kontron entity managing the design and development of the specified products.
  • Competitive analysis of other companies offering similar and or identical product solutions.
  • Maintain and Improve processes for product lifecycle management
  • Ensure that product pricing and road maps are available to North America sales
  • Maintain a local evaluation stock for quick customer sampling of products
  • Monitor product line performance and market trends across assigned products
  • Collect requirements for future products based on, but not limited to market research, win/loss analysis and customer feedback
  • Plan internal and external product trainings and technical trainings
  • Ensure that product presentations are up to date and available to North America sales & marketing teams
  • Ensure that the Kontron website accurately reflects the KAI portfolio of products and highlights focus products
  • Serve as a key spokesperson for assigned products for webinars, videos, tradeshows and other lead generating activities
  • Work with Distribution Management to support the sales of products through distribution
  • Work with Marketing to develop the annual marketing plan and provide input on target customers, user personas and buyer personas
  • Work with marketing communication and product marketing to execute product launches and support at trade shows, as necessary
  • Ensure sales tools are available and developed in a cohesive way
  • Understanding the basis of setting a project schedule and driving to the deliverables;

Qualifications

  • Bachelors / Masters of Science in Engineering preferred
  • 3-5 years Product Management, Product Marketing or similar experience preferred
  • Proven ability to influence and cooperate with cross-functional and multi cultural teams
  • Project Management experience preferred
  • Defense or Regulatory experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Experience in driving improvement projects
  • Excellent written, presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to set objectives and drive strategic initiatives
  • Proven strong negotiation skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Travel domestically and internationally as needed, potentially 25%
