Job Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Branch Manager to lead and develop a high-performing team, drive sales growth, and ensure exceptional customer service at our Cornwall, NY location. This role is responsible for managing daily operations, coaching staff, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory and company policies. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of financial products and services, and a passion for community engagement.

Key responsibilities include hiring and training staff, implementing sales strategies, managing budgets, optimizing branch performance, and representing the institution in the local market. Reporting to the Area Market Manager, the Branch Manager also plays a critical role in ensuring operational efficiency, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Development: Hire, train, and manage branch staff to maximize performance and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. Provide coaching, performance feedback, and make recommendations on compensation, promotion, and disciplinary actions.
  • Sales & Business Development: Drive revenue through a need-based sales approach, develop business relationships, and participate in community engagement. Lead branch sales initiatives and encourage staff participation in business development activities.
  • Customer Service & Operations: Ensure exceptional customer service by overseeing daily operations, optimizing staff scheduling, and managing overtime. Resolve internal and external inquiries effectively.
  • Strategic Planning: Create and implement annual business plans and sales strategies to meet performance goals. Provide regular updates to senior management on branch performance.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with internal policies, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations, including BSA, Patriot Act, and OFAC requirements. Oversee branch security, cash handling, and audit controls.
  • Budget & Process Improvement: Develop and manage the branch budget, analyze variances, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline operations.

Branch Hours

Monday – Thursday 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
 Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
 Saturday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Pay Information

The annual salary range for this role is $67,842.25 to $84,802.82, negotiable based on years of experience, skill set, qualifications and other relevant factors. 

Incentive compensation is available based on bank and individual performance goals. Paid out quarterly and annually (based on hire date)

Qualifications Summary

  • Experience: 5–7 years in banking operations, regulatory compliance (state and federal), employee development, and public relations within a financial institution.
  • Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Notary License required and valid driver’s license.
  • Leadership: Proven supervisory experience managing a branch or small-to-medium department, including hiring, performance evaluations, and team development for up to 15 employees.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, sales, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively supervise and develop staff.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Work is typically performed indoors in a climate-controlled, low-noise office setting.
  • This position primarily involves sedentary work, with minimal physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. The role may occasionally require the ability to navigate stairs in emergency situations. Routine use of standard office equipment such as telephones, copiers, calculators, and computers is expected, with computer-based tasks typically performed for an average of 6–8 hours per day, as needed.
  • The ability to work extended hours may be required or requested by management. Travel may be necessary and could involve various modes of transportation, including driving or riding in an automobile, using commercial airlines, rental vehicles, or public transportation, and staying in public lodging facilities.
