Job Title: AI Ethics SME

Location: Work performance shall be performed onsite at government facilities in the National Capital Region (NCR). The NCR includes the District of Columbia and neighboring counties and cities of Maryland, Virginia, including Arlington, Loudon, Fairfax and Prince William counties in Virginia.

Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance required with SCI eligibility

Citizenship: US Citizenship required

Compensation: $120,000 - $200,000 salary range; compensation based on years of relevant professional experience, educational background, related professional skill set and geographical area. You will receive a competitive total rewards package that is applicable to the U.S. only.

AttainX, Inc. is in search of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ethics Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our dynamic team in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of the Chief Digital & Artificial Intelligence Officer (OCDAO) Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Program Support Services. As an AI Ethics SME, you will play a pivotal role in providing technical expertise and guidance in Responsible AI practices, ethics and policy. This role involved designing and executing Responsible AI tabletop exercises, conducting gap analysis and advertising on ethical AI adoption strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in applied ethics, AI ethics, data ethics or related field
  • Minimum of eight years of Information Technology (IT) experience with at least five years in AI-related work
  • Minimum of two years working in cybersecurity, human factors, ethics and policy
  • Minimum of two years of experience in designing and running Responsible AI tabletop exercises
  • Minimum of two years of experience conducting Responsible AI gap analyses and developing COAs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in applied ethics, AI ethics, data ethics or related field

Job Duties:

  • Provide guidance on AI ethics best practices.
  • Design and facilitate Responsible AI tabletop exercises.
  • Identify gaps in AI ethics programs and recommend solutions.
  • Review and contribute to Responsible AI policy and governance documents.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure ethical AI implementation.
