Primary Purpose:
We are seeking a results-driven and strategic Associate Marketing Manager to lead marketing efforts in the dynamic and evolving lighting industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of B2B and B2C marketing, excellent project management skills, and a deep understanding of the lighting or electrical products sector. The primary purpose of the Associate Marketing Manager role is to assist with execution of our marketing initiatives. The Associate Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing marketing strategies across various channels to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth.
Job Responsibilities:
Marketing Plan Development: Assist with developing and executing comprehensive plans and campaigns aligned with business goals making recommendations about objectives, key messaging, budget estimates, research/metrics, etc. and then executing approved plans throughout successful completion.
Product Messaging & Positioning: Develop clear, compelling messaging and positioning for products based on market research, customer insights, and competitive analysis.
New Product Introductions: Work closely with Product Development, Creative and Engineering teams to ensure every new product launches with complete and accurate content, imagery, and inspiring/educational sales tools.
Plan and create multi-faceted marketing plans to support/publicize large, new product rollouts driven by the timing of industry-wide trade shows/conferences.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product management, marketing, engineering/BOM, pricing, UX, and sales teams to ensure alignment and accuracy in product communication.
Campaign Management: Create, execute, and optimize integrated marketing campaigns (digital, print, event, etc.) targeting architects, specifiers, contractors, distributors, agents, ESCOs and end users. This role is responsible for developing a content calendar to deploy relevant content to each platform.
Social Media Campaign: Create content and manage all social media platforms.
Content Creation & Oversight: Lead the creation of a wide range of content types including product landing pages, brochures, videos, blog posts, sales enablement materials, and more.
Update copy for a wide range of marketing materials, e.g., catalogs, product descriptions, social media posts, sales/customer newsletters, a wide variety of email blasts, etc.
Content Optimization: Use SEO best practices, analytics, and performance data to optimize content for engagement, discoverability, and conversion.
Content Governance: Establish and maintain content guidelines, workflows, and review processes to ensure content quality and compliance. Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics and ROI using tools like Google Analytics, HubSpot, or similar.
Catalog/Website/Specification Sheets/Install instructions and Design Guides: Work closely with Product Development and creative teams to prepare, build and maintain Architectural catalogs/brochures, website content and specification sheets. Includes drafting, copy writing, proofing, working with the web-team for implementation, and coordinating distribution.
Content Management Owner: Ensure all digital files that are hosted in web-based platforms and on-site servers are up to date, archived accurately, and under version control management. Distribute all current files to internal parties and track assets distributed outside the company.
Go-to-Market Support: Support product launches and campaigns with strategic content planning and execution, ensuring timely delivery of high-impact assets.
Sales Tools/Trainings: Support the Sales Teams by soliciting feedback on material needs and execute upon feedback via a “project management” mindset and within the expectations of the budget. Sales Tools include case studies, catalogs/brochures, application imagery, installation and feature videos, webinar training, etc.
Tradeshow Support: Plan and coordinate customer events and trade shows, supply images, design concepts, print literature digital assets, and literature print orders and ensure the most current files are being utilized.
Voice & Tone Management: Ensure all product content maintains a consistent brand voice and tone while adapting to different platforms and audiences. Utilize corporate brand guidelines apply to all internal and external facing literature (product and corporate messaging).
Stakeholder Communication: Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment around content needs and timelines.
Serve as brand source for internal PR outreach, providing brand priorities, direction, key messaging and product information as newsworthy products/programs are launched — striving for positive, timely, accurate publicity in targeted publications and social media outlets, particularly building our expertise within targeted social media that impacts our key constituents.
Vendor Management: Assist with managing and mentoring a team of content creators, writers, or contractors (if applicable), fostering creativity, collaboration, and professional development.
Staying Up to Date on Industry: Awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitors in the lighting sector.
Set objectives and marketing plans related to brand strategy, new product development pipelines and sales goals.
Market Research: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and customer needs.
Certification Compliance: Awareness of third-party certification changes in requirements, logos, and approved language. Meeting compliance with all product certifications on internal and external facing documentation.
Budget Compliance: Assist with managing the marketing budget and ensuring cost-effective strategies. Researching and gathering quotes for third party services, or Orion physical assets to ensure budgets are followed.
Digital Marketing: Assist with SEO/SEM, PPC, social media, and website analytics to enhance online presence and lead generation.
Skills/Qualifications:
Adobe Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere.
Microsoft Suite: PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Excel, Visio, Project, AZURE.
Sharepoint Site Management and Navigation.
HubSpot: HubDB, File Management, Building and Scheduling Email/Campaign, Global Content Editor, Landing Pages, Website Pages, Importing Contact Lists, Exporting Performance Data.
Experience in Photography and Videography.
Certification in Technical Writing (preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field (Master’s a plus).
5+ years of marketing experience, with at least 2 years in managerial role.
Proven success in developing and executing multi-channel marketing strategies.
Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
Proficiency in marketing software and analytics platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics).
Creative thinker with data-driven decision-making capabilities.
Experience in the lighting industry preferred.
Familiarity with paid advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn).
Strong copywriting or content creation skills.
