Overview

Dine Source is seeking a Computer Systems Support - Senior to lead or support development, modernization, and sustainment of logistics systems for the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) DSS Portfolio. This senior-level position involves supervising or independently conducting system analysis, software tool evaluation, and programming activities across DLA’s legacy and modern platforms. Collaborate with engineers, developers, and stakeholders to assess, maintain, and optimize a wide range of IT solutions for supply chain operations. Apply your experience in evaluating performance bottlenecks, conducting feasibility studies, and guiding technical upgrades or migrations. Bring expertise in identifying opportunities for modernization while ensuring continuity of operations in complex and regulated government environments.

Responsibilities

Systems Analysis & Engineering Support

  • Lead or supervise system diagnostics and analysis for complex logistics applications in mainframe and distributed environments.
  • Assess current infrastructure and recommend improvements to hardware/software utilization and overall system efficiency.
  • Support software conversion or migration projects using language translators, emulators, or interface tools.

Technical Implementation & Development

  • Evaluate commercial software tools and recommend integration strategies that align with mission requirements.
  • Develop scripts, programs, and utilities using state-of-the-art tools and languages to support system modernization.
  • Provide ad-hoc technical support and conduct root cause analysis of system performance issues.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work with IPTs, developers, and engineers to translate functional needs into system-level implementations.
  • Produce detailed system documentation, training materials, and technical reports in compliance with DLA standards.
  • Participate in briefings, design reviews, and technical interchange meetings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in systems development, infrastructure optimization, or IT engineering.
  • Experience leading or supporting software modernization or platform evaluation efforts within a government or enterprise environment.
  • Hands-on experience analyzing and enhancing operating system utilization and throughput in legacy systems.
  • Familiarity with DISA STIGs, RMF controls, and federal information security mandates.
  • Some travel may be required.

Technical Skills

  • Systems: IBM z/OS, Windows Server, Linux/Unix environments.
  • Languages: JCL, COBOL, REXX, PowerShell, Python (preferred).
  • Tools: CA Endevor, CA InterTest, IBM WebSphere MQ, IBM Query Management Facility.
  • Development: Experience building system-level scripts, utilities, and reports using enterprise tools.

Soft Skills

  • Ability to lead or guide technical teams in distributed or remote work environments.
  • Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and capable of handling multiple workstreams under minimal supervision.

Education & Certification

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Desirable: CompTIA Security+, ITIL Foundations, or related industry certifications.
