Description
The Administrative Coordinator supports the Facilities Planning and Operations (FPO) department with a wide range of administrative activities and special projects. This role functions as a critical resource in enhancing departmental operations through research, process improvements, employee initiatives, and day-to-day administrative tasks. This position is a liaison for internal and external stakeholders and works closely with leadership to implement strategic goals.
Examples of Duties
Administrative Coordination & Stakeholder Support (65%)
- Provide high-level administrative support to management staff across various projects.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to ongoing FPO initiatives from campus and community stakeholders.
- Assist in the development, updating, and ongoing maintenance of stakeholder communications for FPO, including website layout, departmental news and announcements, and mass messaging efforts.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for coordinating the procurement and organization of temporary staff and student workers across all FPO divisions.
- Directly assist the Associate Vice President in daily operations, tasks, and special projects.
Research, Process Improvement & Employee Engagement (20%)
- Conduct research and support the development of best practices to improve departmental operations.
- Lead recruitment and retention efforts, including maintenance of current initiatives and development of new employee engagement strategies.
- Coordinate internship agreements with external partners, such as the Warrensburg Area Career Center.
Training & General Administrative Support (10%)
- Support workforce training programs and initiatives.
- Aids in the development and improvement of internal onboarding processes.
- Perform general administrative duties as needed based on primary job responsibilities.
- Champion the FPO Safety Committee
Typical Qualifications
Education:
Associate's degree required (any field).
Equivalent combinations of education and experience accepted:
- AA = 2 years' experience
- BA/BS = 4 years' experience
- MA/MS = 6 years' experience
Experience:
- 3 years of experience in management or entrepreneurial roles required.
Preferred Education/Training:
- Management or business-related field.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid driver's license required

Special Instructions:
Full-time benefits-eligible position: Benefits include competitive salary; health, dental, vision, life insurance, AD & D, long-term disability; 3 weeks paid vacation per year; 3 weeks of accrued sick leave per year; 13 paid holidays; retirement; and generous education assistance for an employee, spouse and dependent children taking classes at UCM.
