Martin/Martin, Inc. is seeking a talented Professional Surveyor to join our Civil Engineering Group at our Lakewood, Colorado office. This role offers the chance to work on a diverse range of projects, primarily within the Rocky Mountain Region. You'll be involved in conducting survey work that requires sound judgment and expertise in standard survey techniques, procedures, and criteria.

As a Professional Surveyor at Martin/Martin, you will:

  • Conduct survey work with minimal daily supervision, applying knowledge of surveying principles and techniques in land and construction surveying.
  • Develop project management skills and represent Martin/Martin in project meetings.
  • Promote survey work and assist with survey proposal preparation.
  • Write and review legal descriptions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Process and analyze fieldwork data.
  • Coordinate between office and fieldwork.
  • Research public records and interpret legal descriptions.
  • Perform initial analysis of documentary and physical evidence.
  • Direct computations for control surveys, subdivision sections, boundary analysis, and construction staking.
  • Train and mentor personnel.
  • Reduce and analyze GPS Control surveys.
  • Prepare legal descriptions, exhibits, and plats.
  • Sign and stamp legal descriptions you have prepared or reviewed.

WORKING CONDITIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES

This position is primarily physical in nature and is continually exposed to outside weather, completing a wide range of activities summarized herein. The following abilities are required:

  • Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sites
  • Walk, kneel, crawl, stoop, bend, and remain stationary for long periods of time
  • Repetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouse
  • Identify color
  • Read, communicate, and document in English
  • Determine and exchange accurate information
  • Move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Position self in atypical environments and small, confined areas


Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduation from High School or GED equivalent.
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License and violation record acceptable to the companies Auto Insurance carrier.
  • Minimum of 8 years survey experience
  • Professional Land Surveyors license (PLS)
  • Ability to deal with clients
  • Ability to do advanced survey calculations
  • Has field experience as crew chief

DESIRED QUALIFICIATIONS

  • Experience as a surveyor group manager.
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate degree in survey technology or civil engineering.
  • Experience in work in both the field and office
