Position Overview:
ANSER is seeking a Principal System of Systems Engineer (Chief Engineer) to support a complex space systems and weapons program. In this key role you will provide subject matter expertise in system engineering processes including systems of systems engineering and application domains.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering and technical expertise to support both ongoing and advanced Command and Control (C2) development efforts.
- Lead integration of C2 capabilities into the classified portfolio, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and mission needs.
- Serve as liaison between Space C2, Enterprise Ground Services (EGS), and classified program offices to coordinate integrated C2 solutions.
- Support development and integration of spiral increment efforts to ensure seamless system capability delivery across programs.
- Apply System-of-Systems Engineering (SoSE) principles to optimize networks of legacy and new systems addressing evolving mission requirements.
- Navigate uncertainty in constituent systems and requirements to develop flexible, extensible, and resilient architectural solutions.
- Enable decision-makers by analyzing technical performance, cost trade-offs, and long-term system adaptability.
- Support design of informed architectural solutions through multi-domain, multi-level system analysis and modeling.
- Provide test and operations expertise, including support for planning, execution, and analysis of Developmental and Operational Testing.
- Coordinate system-level test integration and data activities to validate mission readiness and system effectiveness.
- Deliver operational engineering support for mission planning, protection strategies, and anomaly resolution.
- Maintain situational awareness of all relevant programs, technologies, and development efforts across the classified and unclassified portfolios.
- Advise government stakeholders during technical engagements such as design reviews, interchange meetings, and working groups.
- Support Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and cross-functional working groups to ensure alignment of technical and operational goals.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration across stakeholder teams, ensuring mission objectives are consistently met.
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with willingness to submit to a CI polygraph
- Masters degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Physics)
- 15+ years of relevant experience in space systems engineering and integration
- Deep expertise in highly classified space control, ground, and command and control (C2) systems, including concept development, system design, build, integration, and test
- Proven experience maturing technologies through all Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs)
- Advanced proficiency in architecture development and technical requirements definition for space systems
- Extensive knowledge of space situational awareness (SSA) architectures, including their design, limitations, and operational use
- Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering and program management for information operations, space, and airborne systems
- Subject matter expert in space system lifecycle activities: design, development, integration, test, and operational deployment
- In-depth knowledge of multiple space control-related technologies, including optical sensors, radar, electronic support, signals intelligence (SIGINT), and communications systems
- Strong understanding of the space control mission area, including its operational needs and technical constraints
- Proven ability to develop and manage ACAT-like program documentation, ensuring compliance with acquisition standards
- Advanced knowledge of ground system design and integration, including test and operational support
- Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate system-level technical design reviews, audits, and milestone assessments
