Job Duties

  • Work from generally accepted maintenance procedures or special instructions, prints, and diagrams provided by suppliers or supervisors.
  • Perform routine and/or scheduled machine maintenance and repairs, including lubrication and greasing, changing oils and filters, and routinely worn parts; repair and/or replace bearings, seals, motors, pumps.
  • Install and maintain services for the manufacturing operation. This includes electrical and compressed air connections.
  • Repair and rebuild equipment. This includes pumps, compressors, production machinery, benches, hoists and hand truck(s). Involves mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Maintain buildings and grounds. This includes carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, landscaping, and snow removal. Replace HVAC and Humidifier Filters.
  • Rearrange plant layout by installing or moving machinery, product testing equipment, assembly tables, etc., as instructed by management.
  • Monitor and direct, as needed, the functions of the contract custodial services.
  • Responsible for the preventative maintenance (PM) program of all equipment by utilizing computer software and maintaining records of work performed.
  • Maintain equipment manual(s) and documentation files.
  • Identify and correct any safety hazards that may exist.
  • Maintain the maintenance department keeping it organized and clean.
  • Provide timely and quality services and support to all internal and external customers.
  • Use available safety equipment and observe shop safety procedures. Keep the work area(s) neat and clean.
  • Communicates with the supervisor for parts and supplies needed.
  • Completes all tasks with high standards of quality and appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Physical Aspects of the Job

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to reach above shoulders.
  • Ability to walk forwards and backwards throughout facility.
  • Ability to control operation of hand or foot.
  • Ability to lift / carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to use ladder/step stool.
  • Ability to kneel, climb, kneel, and/or squat.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and also collaborate as a strong team member.

  • Excellent attention to detail; be flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Strong ability to multitask and meet project deadlines.
  • General knowledge of building, facilities, and machine maintenance.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and vendors.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and ensure safe installations.

Skills

  • Listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Computer (Microsoft Office) and typing skills. Able to write reports, as needed.
  • Must be able to read and use prints, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents and manuals
  • Competent in the routine use of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and related hand tools, machines and test devices.
  • Must have mathematical aptitude and the ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and architectural blueprints and schematics.

Education

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a Maintenance, Technical, or Trades-related field preferred, but not required.
  • 3-5 years of Maintenance or Facilities-related experience required.
