Supervise and direct the operational activities of the branch, providing all services to which the location and personnel are suited. Serve the customers within our target market in an extraordinary manner so that our brand name and reputation continue to flourish. Ensure that operations and transactions are handled efficiently and in compliance with regulatory and bank policies and procedures. Assist customers with loans and cross-sell MCB products and services. Invest in our personnel so that they learn, grow and become better all around Team Members and enjoy working for MCB.
Primary Responsibilities:
Branch Administration
Exercise daily supervision over assigned staff and assist with personnel administration matters as necessary, including hiring, training, counseling, performance reviews, and other matters.
Provide assistance and support to staff in dealing with customer problems, assisting in the resolution of particularly sensitive or complex problems. Assist with phone calls, transfers, etc.
Prepare and implement appropriate controls and action plans and ensure that each person understands how he/she fits into those plans. Set reasonable goals with deadlines for completion and monitor the compliance with such plans and achievement of such deadlines.
Teach, implement, and enforce all company policies and practices, and set an example for others in the branch to follow.
Ensure that staff is fully informed regarding Bank services, policies and procedures. Train staff and reinforce learning by ensuring appropriate accountability and counseling.
Ensure that appropriate reports are completed accurately and filed in a timely fashion.
Maintain high morale by establishing good communications and a positive environment.
Ensure that building, grounds, and equipment are properly maintained at all times. Stock with necessary items, forms, tickets, notices, promotional items, and cleaning, breakroom, and customer hospitality supplies, etc. Take initiative to address maintenance, cleaning, safety, and other facility issues. Work with branch administration and area presidents to keep the building and workspaces clean, tidy, professional, and in top condition.
Direct staff and tasks for customer events, promotions, holiday decorating, location meetings, and other events at the location. Ensure that food and necessary items are ordered and set up; oversee cleanup after the event.
Assess expenses in every area under your supervision. Assist in developing, and then implement procedures to control costs, and make the Bank more profitable.
Branch Operations
Ensure that operational procedures are managed and handled appropriately, including dual control, vault, cash, ATM, balancing, security, safety deposits, deposit operations, opening and closing procedures, customer concerns, and account opening and maintenance, etc.
Learn and manage the opening of all types of accounts in compliance with MCB's policies and procedures. Be the “go-to” person at your branch for questions and problems with accounts and train staff as appropriate.
Assist with operational, transactional, teller, and balancing duties as necessary.
Maintain security programs for the location, and ensure that testing, codes, and procedures are regularly monitored and up-to-date.
Review and approve unusual transactions, receiving signature or endorsement verification, according to the Bank's policies and procedures.
Maintain an adequate cash position to meet branch needs; ensure balanced vault and ATM.
Review all accounts in delinquent or overdraft status. Take appropriate action to collect and bring accounts to current position.
Conduct monthly surprise teller cash counts on teller drawers and ensure that other branch review functions are handled properly.
Review teller outages on a regular basis, reinforcing training where necessary and take other actions appropriate under the circumstances including reporting major discrepancies.
Collect on cash items or send to payee bank for collection, call customers on checks, send mutilated or foreign currency for collection.
Products and Service
Refer customers to other departments within the bank, when appropriate, in order to ensure that they receive complete information on products and services that would broaden their scope of business within the Bank. Refer creditworthy customers to the Bank's lending staff.
Promote friendly relations with retail customers, local businesses, trade organizations and service clubs, concentrating efforts on those within marketing areas.
Service customers (e.g. access to lock boxes, funds transfers, term deposits, retirement savings plan contributions, automated teller transactions, night deposits, mail payments, open new accounts, etc.), cross-sell and provide information on Bank products and services.
Be mindful of client needs for loans and other types of credit; assist in converting loan-only customers into long-term banking clients, with multiple services per household.
Assist lenders with collection of information and loan processing as directed
Productivity
Help grow MCB profitability at the branch by actively pursuing deposits, fee income, loan growth, credit insurance, and other appropriate means.
Actively increase customer base through outreach and calling within the community. Meet goals set by management for prospect calls and referrals.
Goals and promotions will be set periodically to increase business and income. Make goals and assist team when possible.
Be aware of own book of business, economic conditions, rates, and other factors that affect productivity, and communicate with management about trends, concerns, successes, and other factors that affect the production of the team
Participate in community activities to increase Bank's visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.
Compliance
Diligently protect confidential information, and assist the Bank in ensuring that all confidential and sensitive information is handled appropriately.
Maintain an active awareness and understanding of policies, procedures, designated authorities, regulations, and laws, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, etc. Follow these at all times.
Communicate openly with supervisors and other management about policies, procedures, work conduct, and job functions. Ask questions to clarify any uncertainty in issues.
Address and report suspected violations of policy, procedure, Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering Act, and other laws and guidelines, as outlined in the Code of Conduct. Reported information will be kept confidential.
Participate in training sessions and policy updates as necessary. Assist with coordination of scheduling as appropriate.

2+ years of banking experience
Supervisory experience
Experience implementing policy and procedure
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of MS Windows, Word, Excel, e-mail
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, marketing, or equivalent
Extensive experience in retail banking
Banking sales experience with high productivity record
Some lending and/or credit experience
