Position Summary:

ANSER is seeking a Principal Launch Support Engineer to provide support and guidance on launch systems, vehicles and capabilities for a Department of Defense Space Program.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Advise on conceptual launch vehicle comparisons, selection recommendations, early integration planning, and maintain insight into launch activities to ensure mission requirements are met.
  • Interface with the Assured Access to Space (SSC/AA) Program Executive Office and facilitate communication with other Government space vehicle and launch system procurement agencies.
  • Support new requirement definitions and recommend changes to existing mission requirements across assigned programs.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance across space acquisition, engineering, and operations for all stages of the acquisition life cycle.
  • Assist program acquisition efforts for advanced technologies, concept development, and system integration activities.
  • Advise on programmatic elements including cost, schedule, performance, and technical risks.
  • Draft, revise, and support delivery of JCIDS and acquisition documentation (e.g., ICDs, CDDs, CPDs, AoAs, CONOPS, MoAs/MoUs, technical evaluations, training materials, specifications, and reports) in compliance with applicable Government standards (e.g., MIL-STD).
  • Prepare SME-level technical and programmatic status reports on individual programs or portfolios in coordination with Government managers.
  • Identify areas for improvement and provide actionable recommendations for risk reduction, including technical, organizational, and programmatic changes.
  • Develop and maintain risk management processes, including risk identification, process definition, and mitigation planning.
  • Monitor schedules, track acquisition implementation, report requirement shortfalls, and maintain accurate, baseline-aligned acquisition reports.
  • Support and advise on technical engagements including TIMs, design reviews, program conferences, VTCs, telecons, and working groups.
  • Maintain awareness of all programs and technology development efforts within the applicable portfolio and support integrated product teams and customer interfaces.
  • Provide support for Developmental and Operational Testing, including test planning, documentation, execution, integration, and data analysis.
  • Deliver analytical and operational engineering support for mission planning, mission protection, anomaly resolution, data/signal processing, storage, analysis, post-mission reporting, and lessons learned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance
  • Masters Degree in relevant discipline. Will consider a Bachelors degree with a minimum of 12 years direct launch system experience.
  • 15+ years relevant experience supporting weapon system launch planning, processing and execution.
  • Demonstrated experience with the successful design and testing of a space system to ensure successful launch vehicle integration.
  • Demonstrated experience with vehicle development and design processes, schedules, and key agencies/stakeholders.
