Working Conditions: This position is most often housed in a Presbyterian church with normal office equipment (laptop computer, copier, office furniture). Much of the work other than scheduling and case documentation is spent outside the office doing home visits, face to face contact with clients, and resource networking with other community providers. This position must have reliable transportation and an acceptable driving record in order to provide in-home services to families When assisting with community events, this position will require an employee to be able to stoop, bend, stand and lift over 25lbs.


Position Summary: This position will provide supervision for a team of Postpartum-focused therapists offering: strength based, family focused and goal driven Christ centered services to families with children 0-5. This position reports to the Growing Together Program Director. This position provides supervision of a team of Postpartum therapists as well as individual postpartum counseling services that can include: in-home case management, attachment-based parenting curriculum and support as well as counseling services in certain locations. This position also manages relationships with local hospitals to provide “Bundle of Joy” postpartum boxes to new parents in the 4-county area. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • To be responsible for supervision and support of assigned GT Postpartum Specialists
  • To facilitate referrals for counseling in the 4-county area and assign cases to Therapists and support them in their practice
  • To be knowledgeable of local needs and available services for children and families
  • To publicize PCHAS presence as a professional liaison with the social service community and speak at churches and community groups when requested
  • To connect with all local hospitals in the 4-county area to visit new parents and connect them to resources
  • To provide “Bundle of Joys” for families at birth with items for mom and baby
  • To organize distribution of Bundle of Joys to the local FRCs and local hospitals
  • To educate the community on postpartum mood and anxiety disorders through quarterly outreach presentations
  • To work with OBGYNs to connect with parents pre-birth and pediatricians to connect with parents, post-partum
  • To implement Moms and Babies curriculum one-on-one and in groups 
  • To work with Pediatricians and provide postpartum counseling to parents with young children
  • To be the liaison with Help Me Grow North Texas to promote developmental screenings through pediatricians and the centralized access point
  • To assist and encourage families to advocate for and coordinate all needed services toward the goal of achieving self-sufficiency
  • To maintain all documentation in the CSWIS data system in an ethical and timely manner
  • To communicate, collaborate and organize with community partners to provide the best possible community resources for children and their families
  • To create flyers for events and promote groups on social media platforms


Minimum requirements desired for this position include: LCSW or LPC with training on perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Clinical licensure is required and LCSW-S or LPC-S licensure is encouraged. 


This position must have competence in conducting assessments, service planning and providing case management and parenting psychoeducation delivery to families. The main role for this position will be to provide perinatal mental health counseling to parents that are pregnant or postpartum and must be knowledgeable of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. The ability to work with a variety of human problems and competence in managing crisis intervention is required. Social work skills to promote empathy and positive professional/client relationships are required. Strong organizational skills, time management and flexibility in work hours are required. An ability to utilize computer skills and be efficient with documentation within a client-based computer system is essential. Essential to this position are excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to be efficient in reading and recording case documentation. 


Other Requirements: Must hold a valid driver’s license, have and maintain a risk-free driving record. Must be willing to undergo initial and periodic child abuse/neglect, criminal history, sexual offender, and childcare/elder care disqualification list screenings. As requested, must submit fingerprints for review by the state of your employment and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Must undergo a pre-employment drug screen and a pre-employment physical with the results showing no evidence of communicable disease.
