The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for one or more Part-time instructors to teach elementary, intermediate, and/or advanced-level courses in the Spanish Language Program. We are seeking dynamic, innovative educators who excel at teaching Spanish language and culture. The position will begin on August 15, 202,5, with classes beginning on August 25, 2025.

Applicants must demonstrate the capacity to teach courses at all levels of Spanish, and have experience teaching in a college or university setting. Familiarity with proficiency oriented and standards-based curriculum and current foreign language pedagogies and technologies are preferred. Candidates must have at a minimum an MA or be ABD in Spanish or in a closely related field and have native or near-native proficiency in Spanish.

The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Pittsburgh is a vibrant community of interdisciplinary students and scholars with an undergraduate major and minors in Spanish Culture, Language, and Literature, and an active events calendar with visiting scholars, conferences, and other research and cultural activities.
