As part of our Student Opportunities for Academic Results (SOAR) program, we are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic SOAR Success Coach (CS25-279) to join our team. If you have a passion for student success, personal growth, and providing one-on-one support, this is the job for you!
You will be the personal guide and academic cheerleader for students who need that extra boost to succeed. You'll use your keen eye for detail and your knack for building meaningful relationships to monitor and track students' academic performance and well-being. Through the use of cutting-edge Learning Management Systems, you'll ensure each student has the customized support they need to meet their goals and reach their full potential.
This position is meant to provide a safe space where students feel empowered, equipped, and encouraged on their unique educational journeys. You'll work closely with each student, offering personalized advice, connecting them to resources, and helping them realize their potential. Whether it's a study tip or a pep talk, you'll be the guiding light they need to achieve academic and personal success.
What You Will Do:
- Tracking and Monitoring: Use the latest LMS tools to track student performance and provide real-time feedback. You'll get to know the ins and outs of each student's academic journey so you can offer customized, actionable advice.
- Personalized Support: Provide students with tailored strategies to navigate both academic challenges and personal hurdles. Whether it's time management, study skills, or emotional well-being, you'll be the go-to expert for all things student success.
- Goal-Setting & Pathway Planning: Work with students to identify their academic and personal goals, helping them design a clear and realistic plan to reach those goals. You'll be the spark that turns dreams into action.
- Building Relationships: Create a compassionate, approachable, and trustworthy environment where students feel heard and supported. You're not just a coach-you're a mentor and a guide.
- Resource Connector: Help students tap into the resources and support systems available on campus, from tutoring services to counseling to career advising. You'll be their personal "success toolkit.
- You'll be there for the big moments-celebrating students' successes and milestones-because every achievement, big or small, is a step forward!

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications-Bachelor's Degree
-Strong organization, tracking, data collection, time management, and follow-up skills
-Exceptional and engaging communication skills using multiple modalities
-Ability to build relationships, work independently, and provide good judgment
-Ability to take initiative, pay careful attention to details, and maintain confidentiality
Preferred Skills/Qualifications: -Master's Degree
-2+ years of experience developing and identifying support resources to encourage student engagement, retention, and persistence
-2+ years of experience providing support in a virtual capacity
-2+ years of experience developing support programs and resources that are transferable to a virtual environment
-2+ years of experience using various contact methods including chat or text
