RMC is hiring Junior System Administrator to support our customer at NSWC Dahlgren. The selected applicant will work with a team of highly talented individuals supporting a robust DoD Hosting environment.

The selected candidate will:

  • Assist with the maintenance of a Windows environment & associated Windows desktop infrastructure.
  • Provide assistance to users, including help with connections and passwords.
  • Develop and maintain systems, applications, and security configurations.
  • Perform system upgrades, security patching, and backups.
  • Assist with the development of network and host security policies.
  • Install, configure, and evaluate hardware/software.
  • Ensure that all systems are maintained in compliance of governing policies and processes.
  • Maintain and electronic log of task assignments and status
  • Maintain a daily checklist for all recurring tasks
  • Check-in/out new users: Coordinate with government personnel to identify requirements, manage setup schedule, setup users IT equipment, map network printers, assist user with login, provide basic user instructions, and update local inventory records. Provide end user assistance and training as needed
  • Setup IT and office equipment for meetings. This includes coordination of setup schedule with the applicable meeting POC. Assist during meetings as needed
  • Provide hands-on technical support and training for onsite and remote users
  • Research, manage inventory, and draft requisitions for IT consumables and accessories. Inspect delivered products, places in inventory, manage checkout and inventory records
  • Maintain printers, scanners, and FAX machines
  • Serve as the webmaster for Navy internal and external facing sites
  • Maintain account management and associated documentation
  • Escort maintenance personnel in IT controlled access spaces.
  • Perform inventory of all IT and telecommunications assets


Requirements

The selected applicant will possess the following qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience supporting Tier 2 and 3 Web Application.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with customers.
  • Two to three (2-3) years of systems administration experience in Windows and or Linux environments.
  • Experience with Help Desk ticketing systems, specifically Jira Service Management
  • Ensure configuration control procedures are followed for all work activities.
  • Troubleshoot issues across multiple environments to include On-premises and Government Cloud environments.
  • Experience with Power BI and SSRS preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

  • High School Diploma or GED

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

The selected applicant must have DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II Certification (Security + CE, etc.).

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

  • A DoD INTERIM SECRET security clearance is required to start.
  • Applicant must have the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance
  • Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $65,000 to $80,000 annually.
