CDL Truck Driver OTR Owner Operator - Military veterans preferred

The Class A Truck Driver – OTR Owner Operator will transport flour/grain/materials for our customers OTR from Richmond, UT to Hereford, TX and Richmond, UT to El Paso, TX. The rate will be $4,500.00 for a full round trip. This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a Class A commercial motor vehicle and requires compliance with DOT and safety regulations. The driver will be based remote in St. Louis, MO.

• $4,500.00 for a full load from Richmond, UT to Hereford, TX or Richmond, UT to El Paso, TX round trip. Richmond, UT to Amarillo, TX will pay $4,400.00 or 85% of the linehaul on loads outside of PHM freight.
• Touch freight and drop and hook, as needed.

CDL TRUCK DRIVER OTR OWNER OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Pre-trip and post trip all equipment and report deficiencies to your supervisor.
• Always be professional and courteous, always be a great ambassador for the company.
• Make on-time delivery & customer service a priority.
• Report all delayed deliveries to your supervisor.
• Open to all shifts including some evenings, weekends, and overnights. Regional drivers may spend a few nights out per week as part of their schedule.
• Transport flour/grain/liquids/materials to our customers throughout North America.
• Assist in delivery of missed loads, moving trailers around the yard, preloading as needed.
• Confirm accuracy of BOL, Seals and trailer number after hooked to the trailer. Report any discrepancies to a supervisor before departing.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Report all spills to a supervisor and clean up after yourself.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load/Unload freight or assist in the loading/unloading of freight, if required.
• Always keep the tractor clean on the inside, wash the tractor bi-weekly.
• Reseal all trailers when empty.
• Report all detention and delays at the customer over 2 hours beyond your appointment to your supervisor.
• Remain outside of the cab of the truck when loading or unloading in all weather conditions.
• No pets are allowed in the tank fleet operation.
• Hippo will file IFTA miles.
• Owner operator will be responsible for his own fuel purchases, license plate for the tractor, bobtail insurance and Work Comp. insurance.
• Owner operators will need to submit invoices with POD for all loads for approval. Invoices will be paid on Net 14 days.

CDL TRUCK DRIVER OTR OWNER OPERATOR QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle (Grain Hopper, Dry Van, or Bulk Pneumatic preferred):
  • 2 years' experience within the last 5 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions in English.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Cranking of handles.
• Lifting, as needed.
• Long periods of sitting while operating a CMV.
• Climbing ladders of liquid trailers to open & close dome lids, while using 3-point contact.
• Swinging of mallet repeatedly as needed.
