SCOPE – DIRECTOR - SANITATION
This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and maintaining corporate sanitation policies, procedures, and activities. The position will ensure plant facilities implement policies and procedures as applicable. Ensures full compliance with all BRC Food Sanitation requirements and regulatory requirements. Provides technical assistance and service to various manufacturing operations (both internal and external) in support of the Sanitation objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – DIRECTOR - SANITATION
  • Directs a team of Sanitation Leaders ensuring KPI metrics are met.
  • Ensure JTM sanitary and Hygienic design standards meet or exceed relevant industry leading references.
  • Full oversight and coordination of the Sanitation Program. Ensure that programs/standards are developed which ensure equipment and facilities are designed to be and will be effectively and efficiently cleaned and sanitized.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise (SME) leadership and consultation to R&D, Tech Services, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and others to ensure new facilities, processes, and equipment installations/modifications are hygienically designed to provide proper sanitation and prevent compromises to food safety or quality. Directly involved in the Sanitary Design portion of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for new equipment and (where applicable) before it is shipped to the facility.
  • Provides Subject Matter Expertise (SME) leadership and consultation to Operations, Engineering, Health and Safety, and Maintenance in addressing Sanitary design issues and risk-based prioritization of capital projects related to Sanitation and Food Safety.
  • Acts as the SME for the company during the onboarding or auditing process for external manufacturers and makes recommendations to senior leadership based on expertise.
  • Ensure that Co-Manufacturing partners are following Sanitary practices to protect the JTM brand and our customers.
  • Develops Sanitation strategy based on the overall vision as provided by JTM Senior Management.
  • Develops and maintains industry-leading corporate sanitation policies and standards and ensures that those standards are implemented across the JTM organization.
  • Establishes and oversees key sanitation metrics (such as chemical usage and sanitation effectiveness) to identify trends and react to emerging issues.
  • Cost Management: Direct oversight of the Sanitation Departmental Budget for Labor and supply.
  • Develops and conduct assessments (e.g., deep dives, audits, and inspections) of sanitation systems, procedures, and manual cleaning practices for compliance to standards and identification of opportunities for improvement.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS – DIRECTOR - SANITATION
  • Minimum of ten years of Sanitation Management in a similar food processing environment.
  • Experience with equipment in a processing and packaging environment required.
  • Familiarity with Food Manufacturing Sanitation Standards (USDA/FDA), chemical usage and dry and wet cleaning techniques.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Possess excellent communication, technical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred. Industry Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • This position is an onsite position.
