About The Role:
As an Engineering Manager for Charlotte AI at CrowdStrike, you'll be responsible for building and supporting the teams that develop and maintain our revolutionary generative AI-powered virtual security analyst. You will focus on the wellbeing and professional growth of everyone in our group, and you'll drive the hiring that will enable us to scale at an accelerated pace. You'll help foster an open and collaborative environment and ensure that your group is set up to succeed and to keep roadmap delivery on track.
With a focus on Charlotte AI product engineering, you will work with a talented and dedicated group of cloud, SDET, and frontend engineers, as well as AI/ML Data Scientists to provide the high-quality, high-scale AI-powered security systems that customers around the world use 24/7 to defend against the most sophisticated adversaries. You'll also collaborate closely with product managers to optimize our roadmap and with the design team to maintain a consistent user experience across all our products. The Charlotte AI team functions as a complete product unit, working closely with dedicated product managers, UX designers, and security strategists to iterate quickly on customer needs. Our Products:
You will join the Charlotte AI Product Group. Charlotte AI is a generative AI-powered virtual security analyst that helps any user – from novice to expert – operate like a seasoned SOC analyst. Our product helps organizations:
Accelerate threat detection and response - Converting hours of work into minutes or seconds by handling tedious data gathering and analysis via simple queries
Automate detection triage - Charlotte autonomously analyzes and prioritizes alerts with over 98% accuracy, filtering out false positives and low-risk events
Bridge the cybersecurity skills gap - By allowing analysts to ask plain-language questions of their security data and automating complex reasoning
Enable faster decision-making - Charlotte surfaces hidden threats and answers pressing security questions in seconds, so teams can respond faster and with greater confidence
Lead and build one or more teams of engineers building Charlotte AI software offerings, with a focus on AI/ML engineering, backend systems, and UI/UX engineering.
Manage organizational structure and workload, project resourcing & coordination in a fast-paced, highly distributed environment with rapid iteration cycles.
Support wellbeing of team members - providing support & guidance focused primarily on resourcing, progress, and soft skills. Gather feedback from others, provide coaching as needed & in collaboration with senior engineers and managers to advance team member skill sets in AI/ML and distributed systems.
Drive the recruitment process from initial contact to on-boarding, with emphasis on finding engineers passionate about AI and cybersecurity.
Contribute to the product roadmap, set up your group to deliver it over the next 12-18 months, and share that information back to other managers and team members.
Participate in team activities, such as quarterly roadmap planning, to prioritize AI/ML projects on the roadmap based on availability of humans to do the work and business objectives that need to be met.
Collaborate closely with AI/ML researchers, data scientists, and security experts to push the boundaries of AI in cyber defense.
Have fun solving difficult problems at the intersection of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
Strong engineering track-record and deep technical knowledge, preferably with experience in AI/ML, distributed systems, or cloud-native architectures.
Experience mentoring & supporting people and teams with empathy & professionalism, particularly in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments.
Experience leading through others and setting up multiple teams for success in rapid iteration cycles.
Experience working with Product Managers and UX Designers for requirement analysis and driving the engineering team to come up with solution approach and design for delivering AI-powered requirements.
Track record of shaping product roadmaps in the short and medium term, particularly for customer-facing products.
Experience planning, tracking, delivering and managing multiple projects in startup-like environments.
Understanding of modern software development practices including microservices, cloud platforms, and agile methodologies.
Experience and knowledge in the areas of AI/ML engineering, Large Language Models (LLMs), and generative AI technologies.
Knowledge of and experience with technical teams, cybersecurity, and AI/ML startups strongly preferred.
Experience with cloud-native technologies (Go, Python, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS).
Experience in remote-first environments and global teams.
Familiarity with data pipelines, vector databases, and AI model training and deployment.
Understanding of cybersecurity domain knowledge and security operations.
