Position Title:Drop-in Center Manager - Port

Location: Henderson, KY

Description:

The Drop-In Center Site Manager at River Valley Behavioral Health is responsible for providing support, coordination, and resources to individuals who utilize our drop-in services. The Care Coordinator works directly with clients experiencing mental health challenges, substance use disorders, and other social or emotional concerns, helping to assess their needs and connect them with appropriate services and programs. The role requires a compassionate individual who can foster a welcoming environment and offer guidance to empower individuals towards personal recovery and wellness. Site Manager is responsible for the overall functioning and wellbeing of the TAY Youth Drop In Center.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide day-to-day oversight of the Drop-In Center, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for all clients in keeping with the TAY model.
  • Participates in Community Events, civic organizations, and initiatives as opportunities present to promote the PORT and the TAY model.
  • Conduct initial intake assessments, identifying individual client needs and making appropriate referrals to internal and external resources (e.g., mental health services, housing assistance, substance abuse treatment, employment resources).
  • Develop and maintain goals with the youth such as, establishing recovery goals and offering ongoing support in navigating challenges.
  • Monitors activities provided by the youth peer support specialist such as individual and group sessions, and providing psychoeducation and skill-building activities that promote wellness, coping strategies, and recovery.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals, case managers, and community resources to ensure that TAY have access to needed services and resources.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of the TAY, providing feedback, and advocating for additional resources needed to support them.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in compliance with organizational and state regulations.
  • Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation when necessary, employing trauma-informed approaches.
  • Stays informed on community resources, behavioral health trends, and best practices in recovery-oriented care.
  • Promote community integration and engagement by organizing group activities, wellness workshops, and peer support initiatives.
  • Sets agenda and facilitates the monthly Local Implementation Team Meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
    • Master’s degree preferred
    • Licensed therapist preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a behavioral health, mental health, or social services setting.
  • Knowledge of mental health disorders, substance use issues, and trauma-informed care.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse clients.
  • Experience with crisis management and de-escalation techniques.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Proficiency in documentation, record-keeping, and time management.
  • Familiarity with community resources and local services for individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges.
  • CPR/First Aid certification: training provided
  • Participates in required BHDID State Meetings and Trainings as required.
