Locksmith & Life Safety Technician

Multi-Domain Solutions (MDS) Division – Leidos Ensure secure access and comprehensive life safety system functionality across Leidos facilities. This hybrid role blends locksmith services with life safety responsibilities—including installing, maintaining, and repairing locks, doors, and fire protection systems—while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

Locksmith Duties

• Install, repair, and replace mechanical/electromechanical locks, doors, frames, and hardware
• Maintain master key systems; duplicate keys and retrofit safes
• Respond to lockouts, service calls, and access issues
• Collaborate with facility teams and vendors on physical security solutions

Life Safety Duties

• Inspect, test, and service fire alarms, extinguishers, emergency lighting, sprinkler/suppression systems
• Diagnose and repair system failures; ensure code compliance (NFPA, OSHA, etc.)
• Document maintenance activities per regulatory requirements
• Support upgrades and renovations in coordination with engineers and contractors

Basic Qualifications

• Clearance: TS/SCI w/ Poly
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 5+ years experience in facilities maintenance or operations.
• Skills: Knowledge of building systems, codes, safety standards, and vendor coordination
• Competencies: Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s/Bachelor’s in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field
• 5+ years in facilities operations, capital projects, or safety systems
• Certifications (e.g., IFMA CFM, FMP, BOMA RPA)
• Project and vendor management experience
• Knowledge of fire/life safety standards, budgeting, software tools (AutoCAD, CMMS), and long-term facility planning
