Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary:
Do you desire real world technical experience on an engaging and supportive team? Join the Web Services and Technologies (WST) team in University Technology Services (UTS)! The student Application Developer will be tasked with assisting WST with the development and support of application functionality for the University’s digital presence.

Opportunities include hands on web and application experience developing services and solutions to support the Villanova community while working side-by-side with professional UTS staff.

Tasks:
  1. Survey students and lead focus groups to determine student needs and pain points
  2. Improve the User Experience of our mobile applications
  3. Implement new modules and improve existing modules in our Nova Now mobile application
  4. Complete routine audits of mobile application content for permission updates, content relevancy and accuracy, and fixing broken links
  5. Assist with implementing technology in support of our TechNova Strategic Plan
  6. Oversee Service Request/Incident queue
  7. Assist with the upkeep of the University website and web portal
  8. Correct broken links, spelling errors and investigate accessibility issues
  9. Create and update content/assets for end users
  10. Maintain Document Asset Management (DAM) repository
  11. Assist with removal of content and any archiving request
  12. Assist with documentation
  13. Assist with quality assurance and user acceptance testing
  14. Other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
Work experience in the field and/or technical certifications. General technical knowledge to support infrastructure and development. Experience with Office 365, Web Analytics, content editing, and familiarity with Content Management Systems preferred. Open to both Undergraduate and Graduate students. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required. Candidates that can work year round are preferred. UTS will provide training.
Additional Information:
This is an on-campus position and is not eligible for remote work.
