Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary:
The Information Technology Technician I is a student worker role within the University Technology Services (UTS) Learning Technologies team. This position supports a technical area and provides an opportunity for students to gain experience in IT operations, documentation, and process improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide Villanova faculty/staff/students with Learning Management System (Blackboard and Brightspace) support and other Villanova supported learning technologies support (e.g. Zoom, Respondus, VoiceThread, etc…)
Assist with UTS-Learning Technologies answering and completing service requests from Villanova faculty/students/staff
Assist UTS-Learning Technologies staff with projects as needed
Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation and assist in process improvement projects.
Other tasks as assigned
Requirements:
Training for all responsibilities will be provided.
Preferred candidates will possess the following skills:
• A commitment to excellent customer service • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Comfortable with technology and ability to troubleshoot in Windows, MAC OS, as well as mobile environments • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (e.g. Blackboard or Brightspace) and video conferencing technology (Zoom) • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Dependable once shifts/hours are agreed upon.
