Pay Info: up to $32.86/hr plus $6/hr (H&W benefit through Union)

SA-TECH is currently hiring a Ground Support Equipment Servicer to diagnose, repair and maintain ground support equipment (GSE) for our classified program at the Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, CA.


Our GSE Servicer will perform, under direct and indirect supervision, diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on GSE. Our Servicer will diagnose all system components (including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical) in order to repair or replace faulty parts, as indicated by required testing or visual observations and guided by technical manuals. You will use automated maintenance data systems to monitor maintenance trends, analyze equipment requirements, maintain equipment records and document all maintenance actions.


Other duties/requirements include (but are not limited to):

  • Maintain external fuel and grounding systems
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GSE
  • Operate and be qualified (technically and medically) in ordnance forklift and crane operations.
  • Occasionally assist engineering team with modification, retro fitting, or development of support equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test equipment, and technical publications
  • Prepare GSE for storage and mobility deployment.
  • Operates, cleans, inspects and services GSE towing vehicles.
  • Work includes cross-utilization into other positions that fall within the scope of work and other tasks may be assigned as needed to support the mission

Work Conditions:

  • Conditions will vary as most work will be accomplished outdoors on the range so temperatures and conditions will differ throughout the year.
  • Work conditions will include 45% standing, 25% walking, 20% sitting, 5% reaching, and 5% lifting.
  • You must be capable of lifting 50-100 pounds assisted by other employees.
  • You must be able to deploy CONUS and OCONUS, when needed.
  • Shift hours will vary by mission requirements but you must be prepared to work all shifts - weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice – in order to support test missions.
  • You must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the work tasks assigned.
Requirements:

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years’ experience repairing and maintaining one or a combination of the following:
    • Ground vehicles (track or wheeled)
    • Power-generation equipment
    • Rotary or fixed wing aircraft
    • Industrial mechanical equipment (pumps, conveyors, lifts, etc.)
  • Military experience with Maintenance and Mechanical background (91, 88, 3521 or other Mechanical MOS would be best).
  • Working knowledge of Computer systems and software.
  • Experience working at a government facility helpful, but not required.
  • Forklift Operator license required.
  • CDL Class A license preferred.
  • Current Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.
