Overview

Supervise skilled employees involving a high degree of technical competence in order to maintain, rebuild, and repair a wide variety of production machines and equipment.Assigns work to maintenance staff and vendors for all electrical, mechanical and hydraulic repairs.



Responsibilities

  • Make job assignments
  • Check and make necessary corrections of time and attendance and job records read-outs for current and previous day
  • Order materials for jobs after reviewing requirements
  • Follow up on assignments to insure timely completion
  • Answer phone calls, and e-mails in a timely manner
  • Make job reviews and reassignments as emergency and safety situations occur
  • Enforce Company Rules and Regulations which apply to this department
  • Maintain P.M. (Preventive Maintenance) program – grow and expand as needed
  • Communicate with Manager regarding conditions and situations in departments
  • Estimate jobs throughout shop and office taking into consideration materials and labor for job completion
  • Conduct team meetings with all responsible employees reviewing safety, productivity and other issues of importance
  • Issue Work Orders (Shop Orders Memos) when required. These jobs consist of related work for construction and safety.  Assist and manage outside contractors to complete jobs
  • Work within budget guidelines on capital projects completing all required paperwork (PAR’s ESH, etc.)
  • Work with and support other Supervisors of Maintenance within Seneca Falls Operations
  • Investigate and write up accident reports


Qualifications



Qualifications:

  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a maintenance supervisor
  • SAP and office computer skills a must
  • Experience working with CMMS
  • Experience Supervising union employees
  • Schedule daily tasks for both internal team and outside contractors
  • Ten years of practical knowledge of manufacturing / machining equipment is required
  • Required equipment maintenance experience: maintenance equipment, CNC machines, tool room machines
  • Required testing equipment: electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatics
  • Professional certifications or advanced degrees are a plus
  • Experience in a Lean manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
  • Electrical degree or bachelor’s degree preferred
