General Description:


The Estimator I is responsible for supporting the estimating team with material sales, services, and rental quotations. This role assists in preparing accurate project estimates for installation and fabrication projects, with a focus on building strong client relationships and securing new business.


Key Responsibilities: (Essential Functions)


1. Prepare and submit quotes for material sales, services, and equipment rentals.

2. Perform material takeoffs from construction drawings and specifications.

3. Collect and analyze data to develop accurate project cost estimates.

4. Compile technical submittals and product documentation.

5. Coordinate material purchasing and delivery with vendors.

6. Maintain accurate project data in the estimating software or tracking systems.

7. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors.

8. Monitor market trends and economic conditions affecting pricing and availability.

9. Ensure estimates account for all project components including materials, labor, equipment, and logistics.


Additional Duties and Responsibilities:


1. Crosstrain with other departments as needed.

2. Participates in other duties as assigned by Director of Projects.

Minimum Experience, Education, and Licensure:


1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.

2. Experience: Prior experience in estimating, construction, or a related industry is a plus.

3. Licenses: Valid driver’s license required.


Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

2. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

3. Excellent organization and attention to detail.

4. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

5. Basic CAD and scheduling software knowledge are a plus.

6. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

7. Professional demeanor and positive attitude.

8. Self-motivated with ability to support sales team growth independently
