The HR Generalist / HR Business Partner is a trusted advisor to our Goodyear, Arizona distribution center (DC), which is launching as a new, state-of-the-art facility. In this pivotal role, you’ll manage the full spectrum of HR functions – from employee relations and performance management to recruiting, onboarding, training, and compliance – while making a lasting impact on our people and our success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Address employee inquiries, resolve conflicts, and conduct workplace investigations ensuring fairness and consistency.
  • Partner with leadership to cultivate a performance-driven, team-oriented culture.
  • Lead the DC Employee Activity committee, coordinating culture-building events and recognition programs.
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze trends, and recommend retention strategies.
  • Coach leaders on effective communication, employee engagement and conflict resolution techniques.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage all recruiting activities for the DC, including job posting, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, offers, and new hire administration.
  • Maintain and update job description and selection criteria.
  • Provide backup recruitment support for corporate roles as needed.
  • Oversee and continuously improve the DC onboarding experience to ensure a positive and effective new hire experience.

Performance Management & Development

  • Coordinate the annual performance review process for DC employees.
  • Facilitate and/or coordinate employee training programs to support skill development, compliance, and safety.

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Support payroll processes, including timesheet approval and coordination with the Payroll Manager.
  • Maintain personnel records in compliance with retention requirements and data security standards.
  • Collaborate with corporate HR on employee status changes, and policy updates.
  • Administer morale, safety, and recognition programs to promote employee satisfaction and workplace safety.
  • Oversee general office management duties, including supplies, equipment, vendor coordination, and ensuring a well-organized and efficient work environment.

POSITION SPECIFICS:

  • Full-time, onsite role based in Goodyear, AZ (minimum 5 days per week).
  • Standard schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with overtime as needed.
  • Periodic travel to corporate headquarters in Fountain Valley, CA.

PAY TRANSPARENCY

  • The Company is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
  • The salary range for this role in Goodyear, AZ is $65,000 - $75,000.
  • In addition, you may be eligible for additional compensation, such as a bonus. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including health & wellness benefits, retirement, time off, employee discounts, and others.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position does not have any leadership requirements and/or responsibilities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be fluent in Spanish (both written and spoken) to effectively engage with a diverse workforce.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in an distribution or manufacturing environment, with expertise in employment law, employee relations, workplace investigations, and safety programs.
  • Strong conflict resolution and coaching skills to support leadership and employees in achieving workplace harmony.
  • Experience with timekeeping systems, payroll process, and compliance with labor laws.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (ADP preferred).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Teams).
  • Highly organized, solution-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Candidate must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with ability to: be in a stationary position 50% of the time; occasionally move about inside the office to access fine cabinets, office machinery (such as a calculator, copy machine, printer, etc.); constantly operate a computer; occasionally ascend/descend stairs; constantly position self to maintain files in file cabinets; the ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations; the ability to observe details at close range (within a few feed of the observer); and frequently move boxes weighing up to  10 pounds across office for various needs. Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions if projects/opportunities arise. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  Frequent walking throughout warehouse – which includes exposure to loud noises (honking, etc.) and fluctuating temperature.
