Position Summary:
As the Senior Business Solution Architect you will lead the strategic design, integration, and lifecycle management of NeoGenomics’ enterprise platforms. This hybrid role merges platform ownership with architectural leadership to ensure scalable, secure, and interoperable digital ecosystems.
You will drive platform strategy, integration architecture, and agile delivery across business domains, enabling innovation and operational excellence, particularly for our Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). You will also collaborates closely with cross-functional teams—engineering, clinical operations, product management, and business stakeholders—to ensure that each solution aligns with NeoGenomics’ strategic goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute platform roadmaps aligned with business goals, digital transformation initiatives, and clinical operations
- Own backlog prioritization, release planning, and stakeholder engagement across product, engineering, and operational teams
- Document detailed user requirements using tools such as Jira, Confluence, LucidChart, qTest, and others; ensure requirements are current and follow established software development lifecycle
- Oversee the selection and implementation of low/no-code tools that streamline LIMS workflows and reduce reliance on custom development
- Create design guidelines that promote configuration over customization to accelerate time-to-market and reduce technical debt
- Architect and enhance next-generation Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) to improve laboratory workflows, data tracking, and sample management
- Serve as a liaison between business units, engineering, and IT leadership to align platform strategy with organizational goals
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, solution architecture, or a related field is required
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in software development and architecture, ideally with a focus on healthcare or laboratory systems.
- AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, or similar industry-recognized credentials necessary
- Proven track record working with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and ensuring compliance with HIPAA, CLIA, and CAP
- Hands-on experience integrating low-code platforms (e.g., Sapio, LabVantage, or equivalent) into LIMS solutions to expedite delivery and reduce custom code
- Familiarity with visual workflow design tools and configuration-driven frameworks to enable rapid prototyping and iterative enhancements
- Demonstrated success in designing, deploying, or enhancing large-scale Laboratory Information Management Systems, including knowledge of laboratory workflows and integrations
- Strong experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure), optimizing cost, performance, and security in a production environment
- Hands-on experience in data modeling, governance, and integration, including working with ETL/ELT pipelines and database technologies (SQL, NoSQL)
- Expertise in microservices, RESTful APIs, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions
