Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking an unscheduled part-time Pump Stand Engineer in National City, CA.

Position Summary

Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Pump Stand Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering and over 20 years of hands-on expertise in pump stand testing. The ideal candidate is a master troubleshooter with deep fluency in pump systems, motor alignments, and flow data analysis. This role is critical to ensuring the performance, reliability, and efficiency of pump systems through rigorous testing and data interpretation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute pump stand testing procedures for various pump models and configurations.

  • Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues related to pump performance and alignment.

  • Perform expert-level pump and motor alignments using precision tools and techniques.

  • Analyze and interpret flow data curves and volumetric flow metrics to assess system efficiency.

  • Generate, read, and validate pump data sheets, performance characteristics, and schematics.

  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to improve pump system performance.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of test results, troubleshooting steps, and system modifications.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols during all testing activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field. Equivalent years of hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.

  • Minimum 20 years of experience in pump stand testing and mechanical engineering.

  • Proven expertise in pump troubleshooting and system diagnostics.

  • Advanced knowledge of pump and motor alignment techniques.

  • Strong proficiency in interpreting flow data curves and volumetric flow data.

  • Ability to read and generate pump schematics and technical documentation.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with industry standards such as ANSI, API, and ISO.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.

  • Experience with automated test systems and data acquisition tools.

  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics as applied to pump systems.

  • Certification in vibration analysis or alignment technologies is a plus.

Pay Range:

The pay range for this is $50.00 to $53.00 per hour.  This is a reasonable estimate for this role. Individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, education and experience.

  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.

  • Machine shop environment.
