General Description

Establishes, maintains, and develops the overall relationship with the commercial customers of the Business Commercial Center, by attending their banking needs, the sales of non-credit products and cash management to both existing clients and prospects. Supports the Credit Relationship Officers with the identification, orientation, and sale of products and services and refers financing opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for providing services to commercial loans clients under the guidelines of the Bank’s loan policies and procedures including but not limited to:

  • Managing and developing profitable relationships with assigned clients. Primary contact for their financial and banking needs including commercial credit and deposit products for Commercial Banking Center clients.
  • Maintain active communication with clients and consistently provides remarkable customer service.
  • Identifying and developing new credit opportunities with current clients and new prospects.
  • Collecting and analyzing necessary financial and related data with the support of Credit Analyst to determine general creditworthiness. Effective providing guidance to Credit Analysts in identifying, understanding, and explaining fluctuations and trends.
  • Analyzing and structuring credit facilities that meet the client’s needs and the Bank’s lending guidelines. Notifying and guiding the prospective borrower about feasible financing structures, collaborate with Credit Analysts and the Commercial Credit Officer to evaluate the request, recommend approval or declination of loans within established Bank policies and informing prospective borrower of decision.
  • Managing a commercial loan portfolio for adherence to loan terms and conditions including but not limited to customer and site visits, the timely receipt of required financial information, covenant compliance, regulatory compliance, timeliness of renewals, risk rating assessments, refinancings, restructures, amendments, waivers, and annual reviews.
  • Maintaining knowledge of business, financials, commercial products/ services, the market, and account needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify client’s needs and address opportunities to expand the relationship with the institution while promoting the cross-selling of other Bank products and services.
  • Respond to customer requests or inquiries and resolve them promptly. Refer queries to the corresponding units and ensure continuous communication with the clients and/or the personnel involved.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration

Experience

Two years of experience in customer service and sales.

Other Qualifications

  • Proficiency in the use of Word, Power Point, Excel, Teams and other O365 tools.
  • Written and verbal communication skills; in both Spanish and English (intermediate level)
  • Knowledge of the cash management products and services offered by Popular and how they compare with those offered by the competition, such as: commercial accounts, collection services, payment services, information services, etc.
  • General knowledge of the corporate policies and guidelines, laws, state, and federal regulations that govern banking.
  • Ability to analyze, identify customer needs and offer service alternatives to achieve the desired results and flexibility to visit clients.
  • Excellent organizational skills to set priorities, work with multiple tasks simultaneously, work to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical ability to understand processes and situations, evaluate options and make decisions on time and interpret the necessary reports.
