This position is for a Subsystem Design Engineer supporting the U-2 aircraft in Palmdale, California. The successful applicant will use their technical expertise to design, develop and test aircraft subsystems installations. The candidate will apply his or her understanding of the technical principles of structural design toward the solution of technical problems.

Responsibilities for this position include:

? Develop, test, and validate new and modified subsystem designs.
? Troubleshoot system malfunctions to determine root cause and corrective action.
? Create and maintain 3-D CATIA models, assemblies and installations, system requirements, interface/supplier control drawings, performance specifications, system checkout procedures and statements of work.
? Assist in creation of system requirements, trade studies, sub-component and flight test plans.
? Coordinate with suppliers, internal and external integrated product teams, management and the customer.
? Support manufacturing, ground/flight test and customer operating locations.

Must be a US Citizen, position is located at a facility that requires special access. Selected applicant must have an interim secret and be able to obtain a final secret security clearance.

Basic Qualifications
? Bachelor?s or above degree in an Engineering Discipline
? Experience with CATIA, Solidworks, Pro Engineer, Creo, Unigraphics, NX or equivalent 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool.

Desired skills
? Experience with aircraft subsystem design
? Experience with primary and secondary structure design
? Experience with CATIA V4
? Experience with hand analysis for initial part layout
? Excellent writing and communication skills
