Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions
  • Constructs and refurbishes math and science teaching kits.
  • Assists with inventory control through stocking kits and kit supplies, maintaining stock, and rotating stock.
  • Assists in organizing the materials center to ensure efficient use of space and safe storage.
  • Delivers and/or picks up equipment, materials, and supplies to/from participating teachers.
  • Follows safety procedures, both on the road and while loading/unloading vehicle as instructed by the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) guidelines.
  • Monitors the condition of the vehicle and reports issues to direct supervisor to ensure that any repairs/problems are attended to immediately.
  • Assists with preparation for Alabama Math, Science, and Technology Initiative (AMSTI) and Alabama Science in Motion (ASIM) programs, trainings, presentations, and operation of the materials center.
  • Serves as a representative of ALSDE, AMSTI and the hiring Institution of Higher Education (IHE) and, as such, shall promote a positive impression by demonstrating a collegial and professional customer-service approach at all times.
  • Operates IHE owned motor vehicles while complying with safety codes, state and federal traffic rules, regulations, and safe operating practices.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime hours as required.
  • Related duties as required.
