The University of South Alabama’s Risk Management department is seeking to hire an Assistant Director, Risk Management. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential Functions
  • Assists the Director, Risk Management with all aspects of directing, planning, and coordinating the risk management and insurance program for the USA system.
  • Supervises support staff to include assigning duties and checking work.
  • Assists in overseeing the self-insured trust funds to include professional and general liability.
  • Assists with claims management.
  • Provides educational sessions regarding risk avoidance to departments in the healthcare setting.
  • Works closely with University administrators, faculty, staff, attorneys, insurance brokers, and outside entities in conducting day-to-day operations for the department.
  • Approves and obtains appropriate insurance certificates.
  • Serves on various University and hospital committees.
  • Prepares reports as needed.
  • Regular and prompt attendance.
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and additional hours as required.
  • Related duties as required.
