Position Summary:

BRG corporate accounting is hiring for a Staff Accountant role. Here at BRG we are working together to build a world class accounting department and provide all of our stakeholders with the best-possible, GAAP-compliant information.

The Staff Accountant role will be an excellent opportunity to learn from mentors in the organization and for you to join an organization that is growing and changing. Our team acts as subject matter experts to make sure that all stakeholders in the Order to Cash (“OTC”) cycle are processing contracts and transactions in the system in a way that ensures GAAP compliance. This might mean collaborating with billing specialists, contract specialists, or finance ina professional and organized manner. This role will also be a key person in executing on our monthly close processes.

The candidate must be very flexible and highly committed to quality, customer service, teamwork and supporting firm and department goals in a fast-paced environment. We need a professional with solid communication, technology, organizational and analytical skills and the attention to detail necessary to ensure accurate reporting in all areas.

Job Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

  • Propose and prepare standard recurring and non-recurring journal entries including adjusting entries
  • Perform analysis of general ledger activity including account reconciliations
  • Assist in variance analysis review of financial statement transactions as part of period end close process
  • Act as a system administrator for our ERP (Workday), as well as ancillary accounting systems like Blackline and Visual Lease
  • Collaborate with IT and third party consultants to create and troubleshoot integrations between accounting systems
  • Periodically review access to accounting systems and document this review for internal controls
  • Prepare audit schedules with the GL team to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit for US and foreign entities
  • Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business grows and changes
  • Contribute to the organization in a professional manner with a positive attitude

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of the ASC 606 revenue recognition standard
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • 3 to 5 years of professional experience in accounting or auditing
  • Willingness to learn and own accounting system
  • Exceptional organizational skills, follow-up skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Consistent attendance and reliability
  • Public accounting experience is a plus

Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.

Salary Range: $60,000-$90,000
