Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic General Manager to lead our Sandusky Division. This role is responsible for driving operational performance, developing high-performing teams, and aligning divisional strategy with corporate objectives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a manufacturing environment and is passionate about people, performance, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Talent Leadership

  • Champion a culture of safety, engagement, and development
  • Build and mentor a high-performing leadership team
  • Lead performance management, succession planning, and employee recognition
  • Foster strong union relationships and lead bargaining efforts
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones

2. Operations Leadership Lead daily operations through MBWA and cross-functional collaboration

  • Drive efficiency, cost control, and root cause problem-solving
  • Manage departmental performance to budget and P&L targets
  • Lead staff meetings

3. Strategy and Planning

  • Define bold goals and long-term vision aligned with MetalTek's strategy
  • Identify new markets and diversification opportunities
  • Oversee capital planning and asset elevation
  • Lead quarterly all-hands meetings and strategic planning cycles

4. Customer Relations

  • Support key customer relationships, proposals, and pricing strategies
  • Host customer visits and support joint sales efforts
  • Drive customer satisfaction and retention

5. Team MetalTek

  • Promote the “One MetalTek” culture and core values
  • Engage in community outreach and professional development
  • Participate in corporate initiatives and leadership meetings

Success Metrics:

  • Leadership team fully staffed and performing at a high level
  • Safety and engagement targets met or exceeded
  • Operational goals and budget adherence achieved
  • Positive feedback from employees, customers, and corporate leadership
  • Strategic initiatives completed on time and aligned with long-term goals
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing
  • Proven success in union environments and cross-functional leadership
  • Strong financial acumen and strategic planning capabilities
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and change management skills
